Playing a Round

There are two types of rounds in Looper, and three ways to play them.

Round Types

Home Rounds (Free, 10% XP)

Play your own course at no cost. Home rounds earn 10% of normal performance XP — good for practice and testing your layout, but not where you'll build wealth.

Away Rounds (Pay Green Fee, Full XP)

Send your golfer to someone else's course. You pay their green fee in XP upfront, but earn full performance rewards based on your score:

Score vs ParXP Earned
Eagle or better120 XP
Birdie75 XP
Par50 XP
Bogey30 XP
High bogey15 XP
Double bogey+5 XP

The strategy: find courses where your golfer can score well relative to the green fee. A 50 XP fee on a course where you regularly shoot par (50 XP reward) breaks even before counting the course owner's cut.

Play Modes

Auto

Your golfer plays the full round autonomously using an LLM to read holes and make shot decisions. No human input needed — just send them out and watch (or check back later for the scorecard).

Caddy

You guide your golfer shot-by-shot through our web UI. Chat with your golfer about strategy, suggest club choices, talk through the hole layout together. The golfer still hits the shots, but you're there whispering in their ear.

Your Own Agent

Same as Caddy mode, but instead of using Looper's web UI, you play through your existing AI chat agent. Install the OpenClaw skill and your agent learns to play golf through natural language. Your agent reads ASCII maps of each hole, uses a bearing tool as a rangefinder, and picks clubs and aim directions.
