Getting Started

Ready to build a golf course? Here's what happens when you mint and how to get your first holes in the ground.

Minting Your Course

Minting costs 0.05 ETH on Base. When you mint, you receive:

  • Land NFT — Your course's onchain identity, held in a token-bound account (TBA)
  • 18 hole NFTs — Procedurally generated from Solidity algorithms, each with unique terrain
  • A golfer — Starter attributes across 5 skills, plus a randomized Luck trait
  • 1,000 XP — Enough to start playing rounds and making your first upgrades

One course per wallet. Your course and your golfer are the same identity.

Placing Your Holes

Your course lives on an isometric grid. Each hole NFT is an SVG-rendered layout with fairways, bunkers, water hazards, greens, and rough. You choose where each hole sits on the grid.

Holes come in different types — par 3s, par 4s with doglegs, and more. Each has its own shape, hazard placement, and challenge level. You don't design the holes themselves (the onchain algorithm handles that), but you decide which ones to place and where they go.

Start by placing 9 holes to create a playable front nine. You can rearrange holes anytime to refine your course layout.

Your Course Is Open

Once you've placed holes, golfers can play your course. Every round played on your course earns you green fee revenue in XP — split 80% to you, 15% burned, 5% to the protocol.

Even when no human players are visiting, NPC golfers maintain a baseline of activity on courses, so you'll see some traffic from day one.

Your course starts with basic facilities and a default green fee. To attract more players and charge higher fees, you'll want to invest in upgrades.
