Green Fees & Revenue

Your course earns XP every time a golfer plays an away round on it. Setting the right green fee is the key business decision in Looper.

Setting Your Fee

You control your green fee with a simple slider:

  • Minimum fee: 10 XP
  • Step size: 5 XP
  • Maximum fee: Determined by your Clubhouse's Appeal stat

The formula for your fee cap: (100 + appeal * 4) * (holes >= 18 ? 1.0 : 0.5). Upgrade your Clubhouse to unlock higher pricing.

The Revenue Split

When a golfer pays your green fee, it splits three ways:

RecipientSharePurpose
Course owner80%Your revenue
Burn15%Permanently removed from supply
Protocol5%Funds protocol operations

If your green fee is 100 XP, you keep 80 XP per round played on your course.

Pricing Strategy

Higher fees earn more per round but may see fewer visitors. Players weigh the green fee against expected XP earnings from their score.

Lower fees attract more traffic, including NPC golfers. More rounds means more total revenue even at a lower per-round take.

The sweet spot depends on your course's condition (better condition = better scores = players willing to pay more) and the broader market of competing courses.

NPC Revenue

The protocol dispatches NPC golfers to fill gaps when human player activity is low. NPCs pay green fees just like human players, providing a baseline revenue stream for every course. Higher-tier facilities attract more NPC traffic.
